Being an Erie native, I spent most of my childhood in Erie public schools. This included my four years at Northwest Pennsylvania Collegiate Academy for high school. In high school, I took AP and Honors classes only. I participate in intramural sports and even did one year of FBLA. While in FBLA I made it to States. After four years I graduated from NPCA finishing Magna Cum Laude.

While at NPCA, I was always preparing to further my education after graduating, and in my junior year, I started searching for schools that I would like to attend for my bachelor’s degree. Throughout my whole life, I had always been a fan of Penn State. I wore Penn State hats, shirts, and hoodies. I spent Saturdays watching the games and always rooting against Ohio State. So it was no surprise to people when I applied to Penn State Erie, The Behrend College. In fact, it was the only college I applied to.

When I got to Behrend, I decided that I was going to be a business major. However, I didn’t know what business I wanted to go into specifically. After about a month I decided that I wanted to go into marketing, in my opinion, it created the most freedom for creative thinking in any of the business majors. After that point, it all started connecting to marketing. The dream of doing advertising was finally possible, jobs that interested me were all over the place, and being able to help others with creative ideas became easier. All I needed to do now, was pay attention in my classes and get good grades.

CLUBS

Probably my greatest achievement in college was winning Vice President of the Student Government Association during my Senior year of college. In this role, I have had to prove I can be a leader and a role model for all of the student body. I am in charge of the SGA Cabinet, head of the Traffic Appeals Board, a member of the SGA Budget Committee, a member of the Student Facility Fee Board, and I hold a vote at all SGA meetings. Another fun part of serving as Vice President is getting to go to the Commonwealth Campuses Student Government (CCSG). At this weekend-long event, I am a voting member on all student-created legislature that will affect all Penn State commonwealth Campuses. I have also gotten to give speeches and attend high-level campus events. The greatest strength I have gained from this position is improving my leadership skills. It also has forced me to improve on my greatest weakness, time management.

Another Club I have been a member of on campus is Lion Ambassadors. Another club that requires me to be a strong leader and a role model for all Penn State Behrend Students. In this club, I have held the position of Membership Co-Chair for the last two years. This position requires a great amount of patience, time management, and advertising. I am in charge of admitting new members to our club. This requires getting students to apply, interview, and be voted in by the club. Because of this process, I am the head of the Interview Committee and the host of our inductions ceremony. All Lion Ambassadors are tour trained on campus and give tours during open house. We also host the biggest club event at Behrend which is Bingo. Bingo is fun for all because the prizes you win our creative or expensive. To the right is a picture of our club after bingo has finished.
